This feature is not installed by default, but if needed, you may install it later off the Windows XP CD by heading to under Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Select "Internet Information Services (IIS)" > Details button > Check "SMTP Service". This service supports the use of a local (outbound) E-Mail server.
