SNMP Service

Default Description:

Includes agents that monitor the activity in network devices and report to the network console workstation.

Additional Information:

This service does not install by default, but if needed, you may install it later off the Windows XP CD by heading to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Select "Management and Monitoring Tools " > Details button > Check "Simple Network Management Protocol". This service supports the use of networking equipment that uses SNMP as a mode of remote management. This will also add 3 more tabs into the service Properties window. They are Agent, Traps and Security.
